Hammerstein is remembered now for writing the lyrics to many Broadway musicals that were big hits.  He was brought up in the Universalist tradition (his family regularly attended services at what is now the Fourth Universalist Society of the City of New York), and his UU beliefs are clearly reflected in those lyrics.  Bill Jacobs will give a brief review of his work, and we will hear some of his finest songs — and, with Sunny’s help, we’ll sing a few of them ourselves!
